AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM The DC Super Hero’s Action-Packed Adventure Debuts on 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD on March 12th! That is until they decide to hold up a local business owner as payback for him giving them a hard time. Cinematography is rather intimate for most of it, showcasing some good foreground to background separation. From the getgo details are exceptional as the film opens exploring the home life of each member of the crew, we see all of the intricate details in decore and clothing.

Dickerson assembled an impressive cast with four unproven leads bringing genuine A-Lister performances to the show. Paramount hasn’t been very up to date with catalog titles lately, but when they do release one, it’s usually something rather special. It kicks off right away during the credits and doesn’t stop with tracks by Naughty by Nature, Big Daddy Kane, Too Short, Cypress Hill and more. It's another one like Shout's Halloween that has a MASSIVE extension layer but drops down badly when dealing with the brighter parts of the image and that's not a good sign, it's like the authoring house has switched to a different software package or adopted different settings or something, prolly gets the job done quicker but it knackers it in the process?

Paramount's earlier UHD discs really were very fragile (I still think the HDR10 layer of Shaving Private Ryan is the single most wretched encode I've yet seen on UHD, and there are several more where the DV layer rescues them) but lately it's been smooth sailing, hardly a bad word said about their compression, and then they drop this. Scheduling the robbery in between rounds of a major DJing contest that Q has been anticipating, the guys end up with the money but also with that owner dead.

Their little gang ducks school, dodges the cops, and hustles quarters and dollars at the local arcade.

Yet, as I said, most of the LPs from this period don't sound all that great, even with good, deep cleanings. Join A-list star-studded celebrity podcasts "Tell 'Em Steve-Dave" and "I Sell Comics" as they attempt to tackle taboo, impossible topics and ultimately hunt down and defeat the pachyderm paycheck challenge! The film is also notable for launching icon Tupac Shakur into a plane of being not just a talented musician, but a multi-quadrant one who could act for film as well. Only Poetic Justice, which cast him across from Janet Jackson, would gross more among Shakur's output.Underneath all of the 90s hip hop lingo, and bad 90s hairdos and cheesy gang signs, it’s a bleak tale of what happens when you lose all hope, as well as a harsh condemnation of the alluring nature of power on the street. These are films about a group of people fighting to preserve their souls any way they can, even if that means a life of crime. Its expert level stuff and really Dickerson flaunting his vision and chops through shooting and post work. Dickerson’s commentary is a great listen as he covers a lot of ground about working with the cast, on location in Harlem, and of course the end of the film. Kain ( Renaissance Man) and Hopkins ( Lean on Me) both exude humor and tragic turmoil in equal measure.
